COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Update: Learn More About Loyola Medicine Care During COVID-19.
The MacNeal Hospital Audiology Department uses a number of different tests to diagnose hearing problems. Hearing tests that we use include:
-
Analysis of middle ear function
-
Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) testing for adults
-
Otoacoustic emissions (OAE) testing
-
Pure tone air/bone threshold assessment
-
Speech recognition assessment
-
Videonystagmography (VNG) testing
When you see an audiologist at MacNeal, we’ll help you to determine whether a hearing problem exists and, if so, the source and severity of the problem. We also work to help you understand test results and if needed, can provide you with a hearing aid if one is required. If you believe you may have a hearing problem, ask your doctor to refer you for a simple hearing evaluation.
The Audiology Department is located in the South Basement of MacNeal Hospital. Please call 708-783-3134 for more information.
