Loyola Medicine - MacNeal Hospital offers a post-graduate year one (PGY1) pharmacy residency.
Our program is geared towards the community hospital practitioner. We strive to develop clinical practitioners that will possess the clinical acumen and assertiveness to provide pharmaceutical care to patients with a wide variety of disease states.
We provide opportunities for residents to learn from dedicated and enthusiastic preceptors who will support the residents' clinical and professional goals. Our preceptors will encourage residents to think and work independently.
Residents will work closely with physicians, nurses and other health professionals on multidisciplinary teams that provide a dynamic environment in which residents will develop critical thinking skills and confidence.
Graduates of this program will also have a thorough understanding of pharmacy operations and have opportunities for growth and leadership within the organization.
Blending clinical skills, operations and leadership we hope to graduate well rounded practitioners who will be successful in the evolving healthcare environment.
