What I like about MacNeal: Not only do you get to see the bread and butter of Internal Medicine, but you also encounter rare and unique patient cases that you would not expect.

Interests outside Medicine: I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, and exploring Chicago.

What I like about MacNeal: One of the most appealing things about MacNeal is the diversity of the patients with incredible breadth of pathology. Fortunately, I have also been working with a lot of great people, that I am proud to call colleagues at all levels of my training and practice.

Interests outside Medicine: My family is in Seattle, a great place for all sorts of outdoor activities when it is not raining. Zumba is my favorite workout, which keeps me energetic and refreshed. I am also a big fan of board games. Please let me know if you also enjoy playing Ticket to Ride, 7 Wonders, Settlers of Catan. And there is one which is perfect for physicians - Pandemic!

What I like about MacNeal: One of the most amazing aspects about MacNeal is the staff. From our wonderful nurses to approachable attendings, the staff here makes the work environment a fun, dynamic and interactive place to learn.

Interests outside Medicine: I enjoy exploring downtown Chicago with friends, trying new restaurants, and working out. Running and spin classes are some of my favorite activities.

What I like about MacNeal: MacNeal offers a wide variety of patient pathology in terms of disease process, ethnicity and socioeconomic strata. I really enjoy working with coworkers at all levels of practice and training.

Interests outside Medicine: Chicago is one of the best cities to enjoy all sorts of water activities. In addition, I am at a beginner stage for tennis and golf (still on the driving range).

What I like about MacNeal: I grew up in Berwyn, and I really enjoy helping the people of my community.

Interests outside Medicine: I love to travel and hope to visit all seven continents someday. So far I've visited four!

Career Goals: I intend to become an infectious disease specialist, and have an interest in HIV/AIDS and anthropology.

What I like about MacNeal: I like that inpatient rotations at MacNeal are normally very small, and you end up working very closely with specialists. The patient population is economically diverse, and I have had the privilege of taking care of patients with very little means. There is also a lot of teamwork between residents and nurses. In general, it's a very friendly place for residency training.

Interests outside Medicine: I enjoy reading fiction, writing poetry, yoga, running, and eating all of the delicious foods Chicago has to offer! I am also a huge fan of live music and have managed to go to a few really great concerts during my residency.

Career Goals: I plan to specialize in nephrology critical care and run an outpatient urgent care clinic and dialysis unit.

What I like about MacNeal: Working at a community hospital, I am able to get more time with consultant services which in turn provides more insight into that particular field and helps with learning and more comprehensive treatment plans.

Interests outside Medicine: Running along the beautiful lakefront trails of Chicago with plans to eventually complete a marathon.

Career Goals: I will be working as an academic hospitalist and will eventually apply for a fellowship in endocrinology.

What I like about MacNeal: Geographic location, diverse spectrum of patient population, hospital which is busy enough to provide residents with learning opportunities while allowing you to maintain a great work-life balance.

Interests outside Medicine: I enjoy snorkeling, watching basketball (go Cavs!), playing cricket and watching Anime.

What I like about MacNeal: The MacNeal residency program is like the bible of medicine which guides its residents toward a successful future by satiating them with ample knowledge. There is exposure to all kinds of pathology. The attendings, consultants and nursing staff are one of the best in the Chicagoland area. The medical education department constantly modifies to fulfill the need and comfort of its residents.

Interests outside Medicine: Socializing with people, making new friends, and enjoying all kinds of water sports adventures.

Career Goals: My goals are to practice hospital medicine, facilitate and publish clinical research in pulmonary and critical care field, and to pursue a multi-center clinical trial principal investigator opportunity.

What I like about MacNeal: MacNeal is a great place to train and has a solid case-mix as well as growth opportunities. I have found there to be a supportive in-house staff with excellent clinical acumen. I am happy with my choice!

Interests outside of Medicine: I spend most of my time outside of work with family and friends. I enjoy walking my dog daily and eating out with my wife. I would love to travel and experience new outdoor activities. I am hoping to run a marathon.
